Chunk

A small unit of learning content is called a chunk.

When breaking a module into lessons, and then lessons into smaller topics , that process is often called chunking.

Chunking allows students to process learning material in a more efficient way by breaking it down. Each chunk is connected to a lesson, which then allows the student to connect each idea to the main concept.

For example:

• Changing the needle on a sewing machine could be a content chunk within a bigger lesson about sewing machines.
• How to draw a rectangle in photoshop may be considered a chunk of content within a bigger lesson about drawing various shapes
