Computer Based Training (CBT) is a generic term for any training or instruction that takes place on a computer.
The CBT term originally applied only to desktop computers and did not include tablets and cell phones, which are now used for digital learning as well. Today, almost all instructors use some form of CBT during instruction due to its many benefits.
A Learning Management System (LMS) is a great way to deliver CBT, but it is not required. CBT may also include videos, slide decks, or simulations.
